International Women’s Day Celebrations, 2020
“Educate a woman you educate a generation, educate a man you educate a single person” International Women’s Day was celebrated by Indian Academy Group of Institutions on 9th March 2020. Prof. Shobhana Narasimhan, Professor, Theoretical Science Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Mrs. Geetha, S.K., General Secretary, LIC Union was the Guest of Honour. Dr. T. Somasekhar, Chairman, Indian Academy Group of Institutions, Mrs. Bharathi T, Secretary, IAGI, Dr. Srinidhi K. Parthasarathi, Chief Operating Officer, IAGI, in his presidential remarks, spoke about the strengths of women which can change the world. Prof. Shobhana Narasimhan shared her experience and expressed how women can make a mark by taking some bold decisions at the right time with courage and conviction to achieve their goals.
The Guest of Honour Mrs. Geetha S.K., traced back the origin of International Women’s Day Celebration the various roles played by a woman in the society to strike the right balance between wife, mother, and a working woman. Dr. Srinidhi K. Parthasarathi, Chief Operating Officer, IAGI, in his presidential remarks, spoke about the strengths of women which can change the world. In preparation of the Women’s Day, many events and games were conducted for girl students, faculty and the housekeeping staff. Prizes were distributed to the winners at the function. The cultural events by the faculty of IADC-A were a treat to the eyes.
