IASMS conducted an Orientation Programme on the theme “Fundamentals of Taxation – A Beginners Guide” on 21st January 2021 from 9.00 am to 11:00 am in Seminar Hall 2. 1st semester MBA Students were present for the orientation programme and the students were very interactive. Students learnt about the taxation system in India and also up skilling more about GST. The session helped in understanding of GST in depth, starting from the genesis of GST, the amendments, the article, the features, the challenges, the benefits, and the threshold limit of GST and also GST in global level. The session was informative and enabled the students to understand the implication of GST and its influence on various sectors of the economy.
The speaker briefed about the taxation system in India, Direct tax and Indirect tax. Tax system in India is classified into CGST, SGST, IGST.As management students, it is important for them to have basic awareness about the taxation policy of India.
