IASMS conducted an Orientation Programme on the theme “Living an Inspired Life” on 30th January 2021 from 11.00 am to 1:00 pm in Seminar Hall 2. 1st semester MBA Students were present for the orientation programme.
The speaker emphasised on the following aspects:
How an individual can live an inspired life and how to accomplish and work towards their aspirations.
How to get self motivated and inspired in your difficult times?
These days, if you’re a leader of any type, you can’t simply order people around and expect them to do what you want. They may follow your directions, while you constantly monitor them, but once they’re left on their own they’ll go back to doing what they think is important. Therefore there is a need to inspire people to contribute voluntarily.
Leaders today, more than ever before, have to solicit the cooperation of their team. There are two main ways of doing so: motivation and inspiration. Although the two words are often used interchangeably, they actually mean quite different things – depending on what you want to achieve.
Steps to motivate yourself are: Limit the amount of time or effort that you’re asking for and Appeal to their emotions.
Why should we inspire others?
Inspiration awakens us to new possibilities by allowing us to transcend our ordinary experiences and limitations. Inspiration propels a person from apathy to possibility, and transforms the way we perceive our own capabilities. Inspiration may sometimes be overlooked because of its elusive nature.
The session enabled the students to know about how to work towards their aspirations [desire] at three different levels viz, individual, team and at the level of the institution.
