Prof. Suryanarayana is Director of Academic Excellence for the IAGI. Prof. Surya holds MBA and M. Com with a particular focus on Finance & Accounting, and he is a rank holder studied at University of Mysore. He is a Senior Fellow of Higher Education (SFHEA) from Advance Higher Education Academy, United Kingdom.

Prof. Surya has previously worked as Director of Quality Assurance and a senior faculty at Majan University College (accredited by University of Bedfordshire, UK) and a module leader for International Finance, Security Analysis & Financial Reporting, Accounting for Leaders etc., from 2010 to 2021. He was chair of Finance and has designed and developed curriculum for various programmes in accounting and finance. Surya has worked on consulting and training assignments with major clients such as Muscat Securities Xchange (MSX), Bank Muscat, Bank Dhofar, Fincorp, etc. in Sultanate of Oman. He has worked as Head of the Department of Commerce at International School of Business & Technology, East Africa from 2005 to 2008. He is a certified online educator from Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University, Dubai. He has published papers in international journals on Stock Market Volatility, Risk & Return Analysis, Mutual Funds, etc., His special interests are in designing innovative curriculum, assessments, learning & teaching with technology convergence and promoting quality in management & commerce education both for undergraduate and post graduate programmes. He has presented several international papers in conference on blended learning, teaching and learning aspects of students in gulf region.

His current research focuses on financial performance and analysis with special reference to Oil & Gas sector, & Financial Modelling. Surya brings an industrial and international perspective to his teaching informed by scholarly research focusing on the GCC and MENA regions.
