Please share what made you get into teaching/academics?*
I was greatly inspired by my teacher who taught me mathematics in 10th standard. I started loving mathematics and doing really well in the subject. She was not only a good teacher, but was also kind and always took time out from her schedule to teach me one on one. That helped me understand the subject better. There’s no job more fulfilling than teaching and shaping the future leaders of our world and more importantly showing them their worth, recognizing their potential, and honing their ability to form opinions by thinking critically and by observing the world around them.
What is the most rewarding part of being a teacher/Professor?*
To have a positive impact on impressionable minds, to teach, guide, and watch them grow into confident young adults is one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher. I encourage students to do their best and to be positive, creative, independent, and organized individuals. I am always around to help them deal with their emotions and voice their concerns and anxieties. I try to instil good behaviour and a sense of responsibility for their actions in the students who are under my care. I am proud of the part I play in their lives.
What makes Indian Academy a great place to work/study?*
Indian Academy has an extremely safe, diverse, and inclusive work/study environment. The working environment is challenging and conducive to learning. It fosters critical thinking, helps improve skills and knowledge. It has a diverse community of students and teachers who challenge on the one hand and inspire on the other. I look forward to every new day with enthusiasm, happy in the knowledge that I will be making a difference in the lives of the people.
