Professor of Nursing
Please share what made you get into teaching/academics?*
I chose to be a teacher because it is a mission. Nursing is a noble profession where lots of dedication and passion is needed. Students are like clay and need to be moulded and shaped by the hands of a teacher. The love, affection and respect that students shower inspires me a lot and I feel great satisfaction when I see my students achieve their dreams and are settled all over the globe.
What is the most rewarding part of being a teacher/Professor?*
To be a Teacher, you need to be passionate about the profession. A teacher’s reward is making an impact on the life’s of students. The best return is love, respect, and getting to inspire somebody. Indian Academy College of Nursing and Indian Academy School of Nursing students are all placed globally and are flourishing in their life. They remember to inform me and thank me for their career, this is a great reminder of the impact I have had on my students.
What makes Indian Academy a great place to work/study?*
Indian Academy is a great place to work especially under the great leadership of the Chairman Dr. T. Somshekhar and the Secretary Mrs. Bharathi. T and the Principal Mrs. Elizabeth Leena P.D. I have crafted my perspective by learning from great leaders who constitantly support me in my journey. “Caring” is the apt word to describe my Institution. Indian Academy leaders show that employees are valued a lot. Timely reviews and regular systems ensure employees feel prioritised. The leaders act as a compass and position their employees for what is ahead.
