The following committees & support teams have been constituted in compliance with the requirement of statutory agencies.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

An Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been constituted to oversee Quality Management & Assurance aspects at Indian Academy. The major goals of IQAC are as follows:

  • To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalytic, programmed action to improve the academic and administrative performance of IADC.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

Anti – Ragging Committee

Ragging is a social menace and is strictly prohibited in the college, hostels, playground and other premises of the college and outside. The ‘Anti-Ragging Committee’ is constituted with the following members at the institutional level, to establish measures for prohibiting, preventing and punishing the ragging menace within and outside the campus in accordance with UGC Regulations, Supreme Court Directives and State Act. The committee is responsible for taking action against those found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, actively or passively, or being part of a conspiracy to promote ragging. It shall also monitor and oversee the performance of Anti-ragging Squad in prevention of ragging in the institution.

Depending on the nature and severity of the offence, as established by the Anti Ragging Squad & Committee, those found guilty of ragging shall be liable for any one or more of the following punishment. The decision of the Anti Ragging Committee shall be final and binding.

  • Suspension from attending classes.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fee concession and other benefits.
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation processes.
  • Debarring from representing the College/Institution in any Fest/Event/Sports activities etc.
  • Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.
  • Rustication from the Institution.
  • Expulsion from the College/Institution & consequent debarring from admission to any other Indian Academy Institution.
  • Fine of Rs.25000/-
  • In the case of offences of very serious/grievous nature, the case will be referred to the Police, in addition to any other punishment.
  • Collective punishment where the offence is committed collectively by a group or by a class making it difficult or not possible to identify specific persons.

Anti-Ragging Squad

Anti-Ragging Squad makes surprise raids to hostels and other places vulnerable to incidents of, and having potential of ragging. The squad shall also conduct on-the-spot enquiry into any incident of ragging and submit an enquiry report along with recommendation to the Anti-Ragging Committee for further action.

College Academic Council

College Academic Council

The Academic Council is responsible for all the matters of academic policy formulation, laying down quality standards and their implementation. More specifically, it decides on the calendar of events for the ensuing academic year and monitors implementation. It also acts as a programme review committee to ensure that all the academic programs are implemented as per quality standards. The Academic Council shall also initiate measures for up-gradation of quality of teaching and research in the college besides actively involving the students and faculty in community services.

Student Grievances Redressal Committee

The Student Grievances Redressal Committee is constituted with the following members to provide a mechanism to redress the grievances of students. Any student can lodge his/her grievance in writing with the Office of the Principal. The Principal would examine the grievance and, if warranted, it would be placed before the committee to examine further and redress the grievance.

Women’s Council

The Women’s Council is constituted to promote gender sensitivity and gender equality and acts as a nodal centre for prevention of sexual harassment. The Council also organizes expert lectures, seminars, conferences, etc on various gender issues; also conducts health awareness programs for the benefit of women in the society. Students’ Council
Students’ Council

The Students’ Council (SC) is the democratically constituted collegiate student body. It is founded on the principle of student representation and service to the society. The constitution of Students Council is as given below:

  • College Representative
  • Associate College Representative
  • Department Representative (each department is represented by one student)
  • Class Representative (each class is represented by one student)

The Students Council is the interface between college administration and students as far as student development is concerned. It can also interface with the Student Grievances Redressal Cell for all student grievances.

The Student Council shall, at all times, protect and uphold the democratic rights and welfare of the students. It is dedicated to the promotion of academic culture and development, involvement of the students in extension activities of the college, and maintaining discipline in the college.

The Research and Consultancy Committee is constituted with the following members to act as a catalyst for the promotion of research culture in IADC. It provides information to the potential researchers to avail the facilities available on the campus and encourages inter-disciplinary research. It also provides information of funding agencies and their research-funding – schemes to the researchers. It also conducts research awareness programmes for the benefit of students. Another responsibility of the committee is to encourage consultancy services to be made available to the industry and others.

Parent-Teacher Association

Parent-Teacher Association

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is a forum which facilitates the meeting of the parents of students and members of the faculty. It provides a platform for both the stakeholders to interact freely, leading to certain decisions for development and effective implementation of academic programs in IADC. In PTA, matters like student’s attendance, discipline, performance in examination, etc are discussed. Correspondence with the parents of international students is made through e-mail. Feedback from parents is welcomed taken on matters of curriculum design and delivery.

The Principal and Vice-Principal of IADC would act as Chairperson and Convener, in respective order, for PTA meetings.

Indian Academy Alumni Association (IAAA)

Indian Academy has shaped many educationists, scientists, writers, managers, entrepreneurs, politicians, teachers etc. The Alumni Association brings all these people together on a single platform and develops synergistic plans to aid and improve Institutional endeavours. The IAAA works to strengthen ties between the Institutions and the alumni, so that the alumni can participate in various activities including cultural and social activities. IAAA is also a focal point of contact among alumni to interact and network with each other. The Alumni Association conducts regular meetings wherein the members freely and closely interact with each other on issues pertaining to development of the college and also their role and contribution. Their ideas and suggestions are duly recognized and implemented by the college administration. The HODs also interact with the members of Alumni Association especially on the matters of curriculum design and development of value – added programs.

Student Discipline Committee

The Student discipline is very important in IADC. All measures are taken to ensure that the students behave properly within and outside their class. It is also insisted that they should observe the dress code and be regular to their classes.
