Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a three-year degree programme, conducted in affiliation to Bengaluru North University, spread over six semesters.
The objective of this course is to enable students to excel in software development, thereby opening doors to pursue postgraduate programmes such as Computer Science (M.Sc CS), Information Science (M.Sc IS), Computer Applications (MCA), Information Technology (M.Sc IT), MBA, etc.
In this course, computer programming, networking, software and hardware related papers are taught through semesters 1 to 6. In addition, mathematics is taught during semesters 1 and 2. English language and optional languages are taught during semesters 1 to 4.
The course covers subjects like C, C++, Java, VB, VC++, UNIX, database management system, operating system, networking, digital electronics, computer architecture, discrete mathematics, operations research, financial accounting and management,statistical methods and graph theory cryptography and network security, microprocessor and assembly language,software engineering, data structures, web programming and theory of computation.
Programme Outcome (PO):A BCA Graduate would:
