MA in Economics
MA in Economics is a two year classical Post Graduate Course offered in affiliation with Bengaluru North University; for a duration of four Semesters. The course covers all major areas in Economics; Specializations in Econometrics, Karnataka Economy and Economy for Infrastructure are to be chosen in the second year of the course.
The broad objective of the course is to impart to the students, professional education and training in various aspects of Economic environment and provide them with opportunities to develop Economic Analytical skills in order to meet the challenges of the economy at National and Global levels.
Programme Outcome (PO):
PO1: To develop Intellectual skills by building the ability to explain core economic terms, Statistics and Econometric concepts, and theories.
PO2:Demonstrate the ability to use the qualitative and quantitative research methods.
PO3:Apply Economic theories and concepts to contemporary Economic and social issues, as well as formulation and analysis of policy.
PO4:Analyse the Consumer behaviour, production theories and market behaviour,
PO5:Students will be able to be decision maker as economic consultant and deal with issue of scarcity.
