Bioinformatics is the use of Information Technology in the field of biology for the data storage, data warehousing and understand the structure, organization & function of genes and genomes, the regulation of gene expression, drug discovery and elucidation of disease mechanisms. It is a interdisciplinary field that requires knowledge of many branches are required like biology, mathematics, computer science, laws of physics & chemistry. Syllabus: Biological Databases, Pairwise sequence Alignment, Database search using BLAST, Nebcutter, Primer Design, Visualization of Protein three dimensional structure in RASMOL, Protein secondary and tertiary structure prediction.
